What makes Racketlon so fascinating?

If, in a normal match in one of the four sports the win of the set is decisive, in Racketlon only points are important. A match is also lost, is you win in table tennis, badminton and squash each 21:19 (difference after it +6) but loose in tennis 10:21 and have a point total of 73:78 (difference -5) at the end.

Exactly this character makes Racketlon so interesting. If you would i.e. in the single sport badminton give up a set at the score of 5:20, two additional points in Racketlon could make the difference between total win or loss, because the total score in all four sports is decisive.

You should so be able to play concentrated if you are far ahead but also fight for every single point if you have no chance to win a set anymore. It’s the aim to win high in your main sport to compensate your weaker disciplines. Of course you not always exactly know, which is the strongest sport of you opponent. May be you will loose in your main sport but win over all because you are more balanced in all four sports.

Racketlon tournaments are played in a very good and sporty atmosphere. If during a set, every single point is highly competitive, at the change of rackets and after the match a friendly discussion about each sport come to the fore.

In the end, Racketlon gives you the unique possibility to play against top players from each single sport. It can easily be that you have the challenge to win one or two points against a winner of a national or international table tennis, badminton, squash or tennis tournament. This is also an nice experience if you don’t win any single point.
